Emerging Writers Talent Accelerator

Ready to take your writing to the next level?

The Emerging Writers Talent Accelerator is a six-month development programme delivered by Legacy Centre of Excellence in partnership with Birmingham Rep. Designed for a cohort of just seven writers, the programme supports emerging playwrights who are ready to develop their craft, expand their industry networks and move their work closer to production.

Participants will receive one-to-one dramaturgical support, attend monthly development sessions and workshops with theatre professionals, gain behind-the-scenes access to Birmingham Rep, and take part in a professionally supported rehearsed reading of their work. Each writer will also receive a £1,500 bursary to support their creative development.

If you've already begun your writing journey through workshops, commissions, residencies or scratch performances and are looking for the next opportunity to grow, this programme is for you.

Artistic Programme Partnerships

We work with artists, producers, organisations and partners to develop and deliver a programme that reflects the communities we serve and the creative ambition of Legacy Centre of Excellence.

Our focus is on high-quality, culturally relevant work across music, theatre, visual arts and community practice, with a strong emphasis on artist development, audience engagement and long-term impact.

We are moving towards a more focused and curated programme. This means we are more intentional about the work we support and the partnerships we build.
