This Newtown Cultural Strategy outlines a transformative vision for our community, aiming to establish Newtown as North Birmingham’s premier cultural hub. It builds upon our rich heritage, diverse population, and existing cultural assets, including the Legacy Centre of Excellence and the Bartons Arms, to drive creative placemaking and regeneration.

The strategy encompasses several key components. Firstly, it establishes the Newtown Community Arts Board, empowering local creatives and fostering community-led projects. Secondly, it introduces six annual cultural festivals, celebrating our diverse heritage through music, dance, food, and arts. Thirdly, it aligns with the Birmingham City Council’s regeneration aspirations for Newtown, integrating cultural infrastructure with urban redevelopment.
