About Us

We are Europe’s largest Black-owned business and arts centre. Based in Aston, one of Birmingham’s most diverse communities, we are dedicated to raising the aspirations for the community; local people and businesses alike.

With a variety of spaces in our newly refurbished site, we will be offering a range of events, workshops and projects to encourage engagement with the arts, STEM and business within the local community. Our transformed site, which spans across 2 floors, will feature new rented offices, a coworking hub, educational courses, events spaces and a live music theatre. Legacy Centre of Excellence will also be able to support the creation and exposure of world class local and international live music across all genres in our on-site recording studio.

Formerly the Drum arts centre, the space was bought by 7E Youth Academy, a Birmingham based social enterprise founded by Keith ‘Cipher’ Shayaam-Smith. This represented a landmark in community enterprise and provided an opportunity to improve the social and economic landscape of the local area for generations to come. Through our vast programme of events, workshops and projects, we aim to be an all-inclusive, innovative hub for creative and educational prosperity.

Despite being in phase one of our refurbishment process, we believe that Legacy holds exceptional potential to achieve greatness.
